Chester Farms is getting ready for their annual Wool Fair. This event is like a mini MD Sheep and Wool Festival. The dates for this event is April 16-18 and 23-25, 2004, from 9am to 6pm each day and will feature sheep shearing, spinning and knitting. To read more about this event and the farm go to:

You may know Chester Farms wool better as Cestari Yarns.

Also a note from Debra of CCK:

TEACH KNIT AND CROCHET TO VIRGINIA WOOL FAIR ATTENDEES
ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON, APRIL 24, 2004

Capital Crocheters & Knitters (CCK) has been invited to teach knitting
and crocheting at the Virginia Wool Fair on Saturday, April 24, 2004
from 1-6 p.m. The Fair is held at Chester Farms which is located five
(5) miles west of Staunton, Virginia on U.S. Route 250. Chester Farms
is about a three-hour drive from Annandale, Virginia. The Fair is
described as a mini Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival -- visit
www.chesterfarms.com for more information about the Fair.

CCK is seeking volunteer knit and/or crochet teachers who would like to teach adults and children attending the Virginia Wool Fair that
Saturday afternoon. We envision the set-up to be like a ‘mini-Knit-Out
& Crochet’ event. Learn to knit and crochet kits will be provided by
CCK. You can come for the day or for the weekend. For those interested in spending the weekend, Francis Chester of Chester Farms has offered his home to CCK for the Saturday night stay. Interested volunteers would need to bring their own bedding, i.e., sleeping bag, air mattress, cot, etc. His home can accommodate 8-10 CCK volunteers which will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

If you’re interested in teaching knitting or crocheting at the Virginia
Wool Fair, please contact Debra Lee (202-986-1888,
knitoutcrochet@yahoo.com) by April 10. Please give her your name and contact information, whether you are volunteering to teach knitting or crocheting, the number of hours that you are available to teach, and whether you’ll drive or need a ride, and need Saturday night accommodations.
